Congresswoman Sara Jacobs Introduces Transgender Proclamation on Easter Day, Mocking Christians

While Rep. Sarah Jacobs co-introduced a pro-transgender resolution, Christians and conservatives criticized that it mocks Easter.

Christians and conservatives are expressing concern over left-leaning elected officials appearing to prioritize the celebration of “Transgender Day of Visibility” over Easter, a sacred holiday for Christians around the world, claiming it is mocking their faith.

This week, Rep. Sarah Jacobs (D-CA) led the charge of several progressive congressional members who have brought forth a resolution with the goal of celebrating the “contributions and achievements of the transgender and gender non-conforming communities, and affirm their human rights.

Along with Jacobs, U.S. Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), and Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), and U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) introduced the Transgender Day of Visibility Resolution just ahead of the holiday on Sunday, March 31.

The resolution attempts to condemn states that have advocated for legislation countering the LGBTQ+ agenda, including parental rights bills that prohibit discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity in schools and bills that block biological males and females from using opposite gender restrooms. It also noted there are at least 21 “transgender, gender-nonconforming, or nonbinary” elected officials in state legislatures.

International Transgender Day of Visibility was founded in 2009 by transgender activist Rachel Crandall-Crocker of Michigan who argued that the only known day for the group of people was the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

On Easter Sunday, conservatives also argued that President Joe Biden and elected officials were prioritizing the pro-transgender holiday over Easter.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem wrote her disappointment over the news on X

“Joe Biden banned “religious themed” eggs at the White House’s Easter Egg design contest for kids, AND he announced that tomorrow is “National Transgender Visibility Day.” Did he forget that tomorrow is Easter, Resurrection Sunday?

“[Biden has] made it clear that people of faith, particularly Christians and our Bible-believing views, have no place in his America,” she added.

“This is the ‘Catholic’ president’s well wishes on Easter. Keep this in mind and vote accordingly. Again I will call for the Catholic Church to excommunicate him,” Alissa Walsh, wife of conservative commentator Matt Walsh wrote on X.
