The entertainment venue announced two new sites in Sorrento Valley and East Harbor Island.
Topgolf is setting up shop in San Diego. The popular technology-based driving range company announced it will be opening up two new locations in San Diego. Topgolf has proposed opening sites in both East Harbor Island and Sorrento Valley.
“We’ve wanted to bring the Topgolf venue experience to San Diego for a long time, and it’s encouraging to see us making progress toward that goal,” said Chief Development Officer Chris Callaway in a post on the company’s website. “While still in the early stages, we’re excited by the potential to bring even more play to the San Diego community.”
Topgolf officials say it will renovate the Sorrento Canyon Golf Center and supplant it with a “three-level venue equipped with the company’s latest technology throughout its 80+ bays.” Meanwhile, Port of San Diego commissioners had previously agreed to begin to formulate plans with Topgolf for a site on Harbor Island back in July. A spokesperson for the Port of San Diego told News 10 San Diego that construction would not begin for at least another two years.
