Kristie Bruce-Lane Announces New Run for California State Assembly

Kristie Bruce-Lane has just announced her decision to run for California State Assembly District 76 in the upcoming 2024 election.

In November 2022, candidate Kristie Bruce-Lane narrowly lost the election against incumbent Brian Maienschein to represent District 76 in the California State Assembly. Without letting that result deter her determination to serve the California community, businesswoman Kristie Bruce-Lane announced her candidacy for the seat in 2024.

“I grew up in California and benefited from the opportunities that our state provided,” Bruce-Lane said in a statement. “But now Sacramento politicians’ high taxes and growing cost of living, homelessness, increased crime and our failing schools are driving Californians to leave our state in record numbers.”

This would not be her first elected position either, as she was elected as one of the Olivenhain Municipal Water District’s board of directors in 2020. Here, she served her community by providing San Diego families with access to high-quality drinking and usable water.

Additionally, her former opponent Maienschein will not be able to run again in 2024 due to being termed out after 12 years in the seat, leaving the seat up for grabs.

“I am poised to win and I look forward to going to work in Sacramento for our hard working families,” she added.

If elected, Bruce-Lane pledged to focus on and prioritize issues that impact families directly, including but not limited to domestic violence, reducing homelessness, affordable living expenses, improving early education, and clean water usage.

Besides agricultural and healthcare careers, Bruce-Lane is also involved with philanthropic and social issues. As the Founder and President of the Thumbprint Project Foundation, she has helped victims of childhood abuse transition into a more stable and nurturing environment. Moreover, Bruce-Lane tackles homelessness with other organizations that partnered with the Thumbprint Project Foundation.

Bruce-Lane’s success in the private sector and charitable projects have proved that not only does she envelop her work with a strong work ethic, but her commitment to public wellbeing is substantiated. She also noted in a statement that she “left a successful career in healthcare and agriculture to devote my life to serving others”.

Having demonstrated her capabilities and commitment to representing and volunteering for her community, Bruce-Lane’s bid for election could hold promise among San Diego voters.
