New Poll Shows Tough Times Ahead for Mayor Todd Gloria in Reelection

In a recent poll, voters are claiming that Todd Gloria has steered San Diego in the wrong direction.

A recent poll shows that San Diego voters are less than happy with Mayor Todd Gloria, who has been gearing up for reelection in 2024.

The poll states that nearly 60 percent of the respondents believe that not only did Mayor Gloria fail to serve the people, but his accomplishments stray away from the right direction. Older voters were even more vocal about their dissatisfaction with Gloria, with 72 percent of voters over the age of 45 saying the city is heading in the wrong direction.

Additionally, only 39 percent of voters say Gloria deserves to be reelected while 54 percent say it is time to elect someone new. 33 percent say it is “definitely” time to elect someone new.

In another poll, it seems that a potential matchup between current U.S. Rep. Scott Peters is leading the election race by over 6% against Gloria. Statistical Analysis also showed that with less than 4% of survey respondents undecided, the upcoming matchup is likely to favor Peters.

Mayor Gloria has faced fierce debate after homelessness has more than doubled during his first term as elected mayor.

Gloria could also face a matchup from former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, who served as mayor from 2013 to 2020 after being termed out.
